Aureofuscin Usage And Synthesis
Chemical Properties
White needle-like crystals. Weakly alkaline, discoloration at 170°C, no definite melting point. Specific optical rotation [α]14D+247°(0.4%, methanol), +253°(0.4%, dimethylformamide), +298°(0.4%, arsenic). Insoluble in water, soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide and dimethylformamide; soluble in pyridine, slightly soluble in low molecular alcohols.
Safety Profile
Poison by intraperitoneal andintravenous routes. When heated to decomposition itemits toxic fumes of NOx.
